The IRD Mechanalysis model IRD306DI is a portable digital auto-ranging vibration meter with a clear large LCDdisplay supplied with an inductive velocity sensor. It is designed for large machinery vibration measurement especiallyat the steam turbine end as the supplied IRD544 sensor operates to 260oC. It is very easy to use; simply select eitherDisplacement (microns) or Velocity (mm/sec) from a central tactile button; the auto-ranging display changes to theappropriate measurement unit. The ISO 10816-3 machinery vibration assessment guide is printed on the front panel.The IRD306DI complements the General Machinery Vibration meter model IRD306DP. Both evolved from 45 years ofproven signal processing. It can be used for balancing machine rotors applying the ‘Three Point Balancing Method’.

It is also able to help assess anti???friction bearing condition through measurement of Spike Energy (gSETM). The broadband measurement of gSETM enable detection and measuring of “bursts” of Spike Energy at Ultrasonic frequencies. Bearing defects developing such as micro spalls, cracks and lack of lubrication can be quickly identified thus preventing unscheduled plant outage. From precision bearing inspection to plant???wide maintenance, the IRD811D has the sensitivity for measuring fractions of a micrometer to 2000 microns. Its integrated circuit technology provides wide dynamic range and long battery life.
